"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."

Welcome to Our Site
Welcome to the home page of the Brig/General Benjamin G. Humphreys Camp
# 1625, Mississippi Division Sons of Confederate Veterans of Indianola, MS. The SCV is a historical, hereditary, non-political organization formed in 1896 and is made up of male descendants, 12 and older, of Confederate Soldiers, Sailors and Marines who served honorably during the War Between the States, 1861-1865. It is dedicated to preserving the memory of these men and ensure that a true history of that time period is preserved for future generations. The SCV rejects any person or group whose actions tarnish or bring dishonor upon the Confederate soldier or his reason for fighting. This particularly applies to those groups and persons using our cherished flag as a symbol for their own dishonorable purposes.
The Brigadier General Benjamin G. Humphreys Camp # 1625, a member of the Mississippi Division of the SCV, was chartered in March 1993 and serves the surrounding area of the Mississippi Delta. It has been very active in educational programs, Confederate headstone cleaning and dedications, Confederate Memorial Day ceremonies and parades among many other things.
The Brigadier General Benjamin G. Humphreys Camp meets every third Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Catchings Street in Indianola, MS. Our meetings are always open to the public and we invite you to bring the whole family. We have something for everyone to participate in our activities.
